Thromboembolism - Alpha-linolenic acid

Alpha-linolenic acid rich diets - moderate ALA diet (canola and canola oil-based margarine) or a high ALA diet (linseed oil and linseed-oil based margarine) increased EPA and docosapentaenoic acid (DPA) and total omega-3 PUFA levels and the omega-3/omega-6 ratio was significantly increased, while the arachidonic acid (AA)/EPA ratio decreased.
