Alexithymia - vitamin d - 50500
Alexithymia is inversely associated with vitamin D levels and higher rates of alexithymia are associated with mental disorders (autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), depression and eating disorders) and neurodegenerative disorders (Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis). The prevalence of alexithymia in the general population is around 10%, however, more than 50% of patients with autism spectrum conditions show higher degree of alexithymia.
